Champions: A Multi-Player FFTCG Format

Are you tired of Standard? Is Title getting a little too Cadet-y? FFTCG has a new multiplayer format called Champions that is perfect for you. Similar to MTG's Commander, in Champions you pick a card to be your Champion and build a singleton deck to support that card. See below for Champions posters (feel free to share), rules, and a FAQ that will be updated as questions arise.

Rules:

Getting Started:
-Select a Forward to be your "Champion.
  • The Forward stays in it's own zone and can be played anytime you would play a Forward. The Forward must have an S-Ability to be your Champion.
-The rest of your deck consists of 59 cards with no two cards being identical.
-You may play up to 7 Backups, rather than 5.
-Rather than losing at 7 damage, in Champions you lose at 9 damage. EX Bursts trigger on the 9th damage, this is called Final Meteor.
-Champions is designed for 2-4 players.
-No element restrictions in deck building.
-The player going first  draws two cards instead of one.
-The hand size limit in Champions remains the same as Standard (5 cards).
-If a card triggers when you have 6 points of damage, and you have 7 or more points of damage, you still have received 6 points of damage (Noctis 7-077L).
-The location of your champion is public knowledge (even if it is returned into the deck).
-The uniqueness rule still applies when playing cards. AKA you cannot have two Cecil's in play at the same time.
-All cards and abilities are still played by paying the correct elements.

The Champion Zone
-The Champion Zone is where your Champion Starts the game. A champion can be played as if it was in your hand, but remains in the champion zone until it is played.
-EVERY time you summon your Champion from the Champion Zone. it will cost an additional 2 generic CP the next time you summon it.
  • EX: The first time you summon your Champion it will cost the regular amount of CP. The second time would be +2, the third time would be a further +2 (+4 total from the regular cost), and so on.
-The Champion Zone is a separate zone from your hand and counts as such for effects such as Palom 2-015H (he will always deal 7k on entry).
-Effects that would remove your Champion from the game or put it in the Break Zone will place your Champion in those respective areas. If your Champion isn’t on the field at the end of the turn, you must return it to the Champion Zone.
-Effects that would return your Champion to your hand do so, but at the end of your turn, if your Champion is in your hand, it returns to the Champion Zone. While a Champion is in your hand, it can be played for it's regular CP cost or be discarded for CP.
-Champions will trigger “enter the Break Zone” effects as they do enter the Break Zone (they return to the Champion Zone and the end of the turn).

Multiplayer Rules
-
Priority starts with with turn player and passes clockwise (to the left) until all players pass priority.
-Effects that designate your opponent target all opponents, for example “your opponent discards 1 card from his/her hand.” will cause all opponents to discard.
-Cards that specifically target a Character still target the number of character(s) indicated by the text, not one for each opponent.
-When in combat, if a Forward attacks, anyone can choose to block it, if it goes unblocked, all opponent’s will take 1 point of damage. If one player blocks the attack, no opponents will take a point of damage.
-If a card references the amount of cards in an opponent's hand they choose a player, if that same effect must choose a character, you must choose a character that opponent controls (e.g Vivi 3-017L).
-If an effect reveals an opponents hand, it affects only one other opponent.
-If an effect that targets a Character also would cause an opponent to discard, only the controller(s) of the targeted forwards will discard. For example, while a card written like Argath 1-033C will make all opponents discard, a card written like Scylla 10-032H will only make one opponent discard.
-For a conditional auto ability that doesn't target but affects your opponent, it affects each opponent individually if they meet the conditions (Jecht 7-010L will only deal damage to the players that are behind on damage).
