Welcome back Mysidians, this week I have an interview to share with a new member of the Cards of Ivalice (COI) team. Please welcome Ynez Nevarez! I gave Ynez a call over the weekend and we talked about her entry to FFTCG and how the competitive year has gone so far. I was surprised to find out that she took the interview call at a shopping mall! Kudos to Ynez talking through what must have been a distracting background. I have written a transcript of the interview below and will be adding the audio of the call if the editing process goes smoothly.
I do want to note that I am very new to interviewing people, and I definitely have a lot to work on (transitions, creating conversation etc). If you have any feedback for the interview, such as questions I could have asked, please by all means comment below. I appreciate the support. Alright let’s get to the interview, enjoy!
Hello Mysidians, I am back with another article after spending the weekend in Washington State at Lake Cavanaugh. I was down there for a big group trip with 13 friends. It was my first time attending this annual trip and as a rookie I had to complete some… challenges. Now I am back at work and there is not enough orange juice in the world to help me recuperate.
So you might be asking at this point, why the humble brag about my fun weekend out of town? Well, while there was a lot of “activities” going on all weekend, there was also a good amount of downtime for watching Netflix or playing some board games etc. I had brought some Magic the Gathering Battle Decks (purchased from Card Kingdom) and played a few games with my brother. Some of the guys began to watch us play, and a few people were intrigued. By the end of the weekend, two of my friends were completely hooked, and one had already ordered some Battle Decks online for them self. Almost everyone stopped by at some point to watch, and most did the exact same thing: they asked if they could look through all the unused decks so they could admire the card art. I had a few other people tell me they wanted to try it by the end of the weekend.
Hello Mysidians! Welcome back after a bit of break from Mysidia Post content. I have been pretty busy at work. In case you didn’t know, I am a high school teacher and right now it is end of year/report card season. I also recently went away for my bachelor party, and I am still feeling the consequences of my actions from that weekend. After this week things will settle down for me, and you can expect to see new content again each week.
Now its time for the reason I am writing this article… The Mysidia Post has a spoiler! When I first started writing this blog last year, I had several goals. One of these goals was to someday be considered for spoilers. When RB contacted me with the opportunity, I was so happy I honestly couldn’t stop smiling.
Now you may think that my spoiler is from Category IV, this being a FFIV heavy set, and my blog title coming from the iconic town from the same game. However, I ended up getting a Type-0 card, and I am very happy with the choice. You may not know this about me, but I am a massive Gundam fan, and have a collection Gunpla models in my office on display. Char is one of the most famous Gundam characters of all, and this card is his doppelganger!
